Key Leadership

Ian has been in the construction industry for 20 years.  Through the years Ian has gained invaluable expertise in pre-construction planning, fast track scheduling, project phasing / logistics, and grade planning / layout.  Ian’s experience spans across several industries having managed work on mission critical/high security, restaurant, healthcare, data center, religious center, and heavy highway construction projects.  He leads the company by being dedicated to and following Schorn’s vision and mission statement.  Ian oversees the company’s core divisions of pre-construction, operations, and finance.  His dedication to client and employee success has led to company growth since taking over the CEO position after transitioning to an ESOP.  

Michael has been in the construction industry for almost 20 years.  He specializes in budgeting, estimating, and competitively bidding commercial ground up and renovation construction projects.  Michael is responsible for collaborating with project managers to develop and maintain pre-construction and construction estimates.  Michael’s process consists of building estimates on a practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing, and the means and methods of a project.

Paul has been in the construction industry for over 25 years.  Paul has an abundance of expertise in organizing fast track schedules, proactive communication, client and partner relationship management, and team management.  His in-field experience has given him the aptitude to foresee potential issues on jobs before they happen.  Paul is responsible for the company’s operational performance and productivity. He oversees a team of project managers, superintendents, and field technicians.  Paul takes pride in upholding the quality and integrity standards that the company was built on, along with maintaining and growing long-lasting relationships with our clients. 

Laura has more than 10 years experience in accounting focusing on construction.  She holds a BS in Accounting from West Chester University.  She specializes in project accounting, job costing, efficiency, accuracy, and process improvement.  Laura is responsible for company finances and human resource management including benefits.  She has expertise in project cost / revenue analysis, producing / auditing internal financial statements and reports, and balance sheet reconciliations.   Her abilities extend to handling payroll, tax filings and managing federal / state / local compliance.  Laura oversees the company’s accounting department, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable.  She provides financial insight and support for companywide executive decisions.

Schorn Construction maintains a professional staff of estimators, designers, managers, and construction personnel with an extensive range of experience. The diversity of our craftsmen and subcontractors coupled with our management team permits us to perform a wide range of projects from office renovations to complete new facility construction.
